On December 23, 2020, the International Federation for Minority Media and Human Rights participated in a workshop entitled (Suicides in Baghdad..2020).

 Which was set up by the Al-Nahrain Center for Strategic Studies and in cooperation with the National Security Council Advisory .. and in the presence of Mr. Khaled Saddam and the head of the media committee of the union .. It is worth mentioning that Mr. Qassem Al-Araji, National Security Adviser, Dr. Abeer Chalabi, Undersecretary of Social Affairs, and Dr. Saad banned this workshop Ma'an from the Ministry of Interior.. Researchers and participants in the workshop presented a comparative perspective between suicide cases for females and males. The percentage, from 2018 to 2020, was high for males.. Suicide cases were also distributed among the governorates, and Baghdad governorate topped the highest percentage of suicides with a rate of (21%, ) during the year 2020, followed by Dhi Qar governorate with a percentage of (12%), and then Basra governorate with a percentage of (11%). The researchers also explained the causes of suicide, including the economic situation and electronic blackmail, in addition to the psychological situation. They also showed the methods of suicide, including burning, hanging or shooting. At the end of the workshop, with the participation of the attendees, comments were given and how to address and combat this phenomenon, which has become widespread in the country.
